Description

Temozolomide is probably the most important discovery in the new millennium. This drug brought hope to thousands of brain tumour patients across the world. Temozolomide showed excellent survival benefit in patients of glioblastoma multiforme, a common and aggressive form of brain tumour which did not allow survival beyond a few months with conventional treatment involving surgery and radiation.

Indications:

• Glioblastoma, concurrently with radiotherapy and as maintenance after radiotherapy
• Anaplastic astrocytoma that is refractory to nitrosoureas
• Melanoma
• Metastatic carcinomas to the brain
